Hampshire Scouts Rifle Club is organising a number of National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA) Youth Proficiency Scheme (YPS) Tutor’s Diploma courses fthrough to the end of 2022 – the basic qualification required for the supervision of target shooting with air rifles as a Scouting / Youth Activity.
12 places are typically made available on each of these popular weekend 09:00 – 17:00 courses (booked on a first come first served / payment received basis) with dated being:
- 11-12 June course in Fleet – all places booked
- 05-06 November 2022 in Whitchurch nr Andover
Cost is £90 per head for Scouters and £120 for other youth based, ‘charity’ registered, activity groups (In each case this includes a £45 non-refundable deposit if attendee withdraws but places are transferable).
Each course covers everything needed to equip candidates to run Scouting ‘have-a-go’ sessions in air rifle shooting and support young people shooting over a longer period. Refreshments are provided and accommodation / camping locally can be arranged.
Attending candidates must be 18 years+.
The courses will be delivered in compliance with any Covid restrictions, adhering to ‘safe practices’ and we’d also currently appreciate a Lateral Flow test being done on the day, before entering the classroom.

HSRC will also be offering other shooting qualification courses in 2022/23 and bespoke courses can also be arranged for both Scouting and Youth organisations.
