ESSU Open Rifle & Pistol Championships 2018

*These Championships are Open to all, but the title of ‘English Champion’, medals and trophies may only be won by those who are ESSU Members on or before 21st April

All competitions will be conducted under ISSF Rules (2017 2nd Print version) (with modifications in respect of 25m Air Pistols)

Entries close Saturday 29th April 2018 Entries after that date will be accepted, range space permitting, subject to a £5.00 late entry fee

This is a selection meeting for Team England National Squad, (TENS), and for GBR ranking.

The Rapid-Fire Pistol event will take place on Cheylesmore range and is limited to those who have authorisation for .22 pistols under s5 of the Firearms Act. Entries are limited to six (6) competitors. Similarly, the 25m Pistol Women event will be limited to 10 entries. National Squad candidates will have priority. 25m Air Sport Pistol events will take place at the Lord Roberts Centre.

If choosing to pay by electronic banking, you MUST WAIT until you receive your squadding notice showing your competitor number which must be used as the payment reference. e.g. Champs.101. In previous Championships, non-payment and subsequent non-attendance has resulted in us not having space to accept entries, with consequent loss of revenue. Therefore, we have been obliged to introduce a policy whereby once your squadding-notice is sent your payment must be made within seven days, otherwise your entry will be withdrawn. Your squadding notice will include either a receipt for fees paid or a notice of the fees payable.

Squadding notices will be sent by e-mail. Please PRINT your e-mail address clearly. If you have no e-mail address, enclose a s.a.e. with your entry-form for the return of your squadding-notice.

English Championships

The Title of ‘English Champion’, the trophy and a special Gold medal will be awarded to eligible competitors in each Championship event. Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded subject to the following: 10 to 15 Competitors “Gold”, “Silver” medals only 16 or more Competitors “Gold”, “Silver” and “Bronze” medals

Junior Trophies

Juniors are defined by ISSF Rules as being under the age of 21 on 31st December in the competition year. Junior Competitions are concurrent with the Championship events and may not be entered or competed separately. No additional entry fees are payable. Certificates will be awarded to the top three places.

Open Championships

All comers are eligible for the Open Championships which are fired concurrently with the English Championships. A Commemorative Shield will be awarded if the winner of an event is not an ESSU Member and therefore ineligible for the Championship medals or trophies. Medallists in the English Championships who achieve a top three place in the Open Championships will receive a Certificate of Merit. Certificates will be awarded to the top three places in all events.
